Teresa

I didn't really realize that the stone water jars were dirty until I read your message. I think that it's tough to give up old habits! I cling onto some of them so tightly. For example, my wife Jo recently challenged me to do daily Bible reading. I've never been able to do that consistently! I prefer to read my non-Christian stuff after work. But it's a real slow change. I think the point of your message was that the water in the jars (their ceremonies and religious posturing) was dirty, it wasn't worth anything until Jesus changed it into something beautiful. I suppose that we as Christians have a difficult task! To give up our treasured 'traditions' and only rely on Jesus transformative power is more easily said than done. I'd be interested to hear how that unfolds in your ministries (I read you go to two services).

God bless,
